English-Speaking Summer Camps in Europe: 20+ Options Across 10 Countries

This is the post I wish existed when I first started looking for camps abroad. The number one question I get from American families — by a mile — is: "Are there English-speaking camps in Europe?" Yes. Tons. Across nearly every country. I've spent the last few years researching, vetting, and in many cases sending my own kids to these programs, and I've put together every English-language camp I'd recommend, organized by country.

Whether you're planning a multi-country European summer or settling into one city for a few weeks, there's an English-language camp that fits. Let's get into it.
Switzerland
Switzerland has been the home of international summer camps for over a century, and the English-language programming here is world-class.
Village Camps — Leysin
Village Camps has been running international programs since 1972, and their Swiss Alps location in Leysin is the flagship. Two-week sleepaway sessions run in July and August, with morning specialty tracks your child chooses: Adventure, Tennis, English or French Language, Lab Explorers, Sports, or Leadership. Afternoons are all Alps, all the time — mountain hikes, high ropes, lake trips, archery, and rock climbing. The instruction is entirely in English, and the international mix of campers is genuinely impressive.
Ages: 7–17 | Type: Sleepaway | Language: English | Season: July–August
Les Elfes — Verbier
Les Elfes is one of the most well-known international camps in the world. Located in Verbier, they run summer programs from June through August and winter programs from mid-December through late April, all for ages 6–17. Summer activities include hiking, mountain biking, climbing, zip-lining, and water sports. What makes Les Elfes stand out is the diversity — campers come from 75+ nationalities, and the primary language of instruction is English. The accommodation is in traditional Swiss chalets with ensuite bathrooms, which is a level of comfort most sleepaway camps can't match.
Ages: 6–17 | Type: Sleepaway | Language: English | Season: Summer & Winter
Camp Suisse — Les Crosets
Camp Suisse runs compact six-day sleepaway sessions for ages 7–17 in the Portes du Soleil region. English is the primary language, with multilingual staff who can support kids in French and other languages as needed. In summer, the focus is on adventure activities, team sports, and swimming. The all-inclusive pricing (equipment, lift passes, lunches, Geneva Airport transfers in winter) makes it one of the easiest Swiss camps to book without stressing about hidden costs.
Ages: 7–17 | Type: Sleepaway | Language: English | Season: Summer & Winter
Spain
Spain is one of the most popular family travel destinations in Europe, and the English-language camp options — especially in Barcelona — are excellent.
American School of Barcelona (ASB)
The ASB runs a four-week English immersion summer program covering art, robotics, musical theater, and interactive classes. It's a well-established international school with excellent facilities, and the full-English environment means your kids won't miss a beat. The campus is impressive and the organization is tight — a safe bet if you want structure and quality.
Ages: 3–16 | Type: Day camp | Language: English immersion | Season: Summer
BFIS Barcelona (Benjamin Franklin International School)
BFIS offers two distinct English-language summer programs: a Creativity Camp with art, sports, and team-building activities, and a Basketball Camp for more athletically focused kids. Both run as day camps with English as the primary language. The school's international reputation means the staff and programming are top-notch.
Ages: 4–17 | Type: Day camp | Language: English | Season: Summer
ISC Spain — Madrid
If you're basing your family in Madrid rather than Barcelona, ISC Spain runs an English-language teen program for ages 13–18. It's a sleepaway format that combines cultural excursions, language practice, and social activities — great for older kids who want a more independent experience in Spain's capital.
Ages: 13–18 | Type: Sleepaway | Language: English | Season: Summer
Broadway Sitges (IAB Youth Academy)
Just 30 minutes south of Barcelona in the seaside town of Sitges, this musical theatre camp runs weekly sessions from late June through late July. Kids take singing, acting, and dance classes all week, and each session culminates in a real performance for families in a professional theatre. All instruction is in English. Watching your kid take a bow on a real stage in a Mediterranean town is a core memory.
Ages: 6–17 | Type: Day camp | Language: English | Season: Late June–July
France
France has more English-language camp options than most people realize, especially in Paris and the south.
American School of Paris
The American School of Paris runs a summer program for ages 3–18, all in English. Younger kids get arts, crafts, games, and outdoor play. Older kids and teens can choose tracks like drama, journalism, and creative arts. It's a well-resourced international school campus, and the English-language environment is seamless. A strong option if you're spending a few weeks in Paris.
Ages: 3–18 | Type: Day camp | Language: English | Season: Summer
Forest International School — Paris
For younger kids (ages 2–12), Forest International School runs a bilingual English-French day camp in Paris. The bilingual approach works beautifully for this age group — kids pick up French naturally while still having the comfort of English instruction. Small group sizes and a nurturing environment make it especially good for first-time campers.
Ages: 2–12 | Type: Day camp | Language: Bilingual English-French | Season: Summer
KidooLand — Antibes
KidooLand on the French Riviera is a standout for several reasons: it's fully English-language, it runs programs for ages 4–16, and it's neuro-inclusive, meaning they actively welcome and accommodate neurodivergent children. The programming combines outdoor activities, creative projects, and beach time. If you're heading to the south of France and want a camp that genuinely cares about every kid feeling welcome, this is the one.
Ages: 4–16 | Type: Day camp | Language: English | Season: Summer
United Kingdom
Obviously, the UK is English-speaking by default — but these camps are worth highlighting for families who want to combine a UK trip with camp time.
Wild Outdoors — Edinburgh
Wild Outdoors runs nature-based day and residential programs for primary school-age kids and up. Think bushcraft, fire-building, forest exploration, wildlife tracking, and outdoor cooking. It's the kind of camp where kids come home smelling like campfire and asking when they can go back. The Scottish Highlands setting is unbeatable.

How to Choose the Right English-Speaking Camp
With this many options, here's how I'd narrow it down:
- Day camp vs. sleepaway depends on your family's travel style. Day camps give you flexibility and let younger kids come home to you each evening. Sleepaway camps give older kids independence and give you real time to explore.
- Younger kids (under 6) do best with bilingual rather than full English. Programs like Forest International School in Paris or Montessori-based camps ease kids in gently rather than throwing them into a fully foreign environment.
- Camps run by international schools tend to have the best English instruction. The American School of Paris, American School of Barcelona, and BFIS Barcelona all leverage their school-year infrastructure for excellent summer programming.
- Book 3–6 months in advance for the most popular programs. Swiss camps and Barcelona's top options fill up fast. I start hearing from subscribers in January and February about summer bookings, and by April the best sessions are gone.
- Check the actual English level. Some camps say "English available" but really mean one staff member speaks English. The camps on this list all run their programming primarily in English.
