Summer Camps in Italy Beyond Tuscany: Milan, Venice, Rome & the Adriatic Coast

Italy was the number-one pick in my latest subscriber poll — and I completely understand why. The food, the culture, the pace of life, the sheer beauty of the place. I already have a dedicated guide to camps in Tuscany, but Italy has so much more to offer beyond Florence and Siena. From a cutting-edge tech campus near Venice to AC Milan soccer training in Lombardy to marine biology programs on the Adriatic coast, there are excellent camps from the top of the boot to the bottom.

Here are seven programs across the rest of Italy that I'd recommend to any family planning an Italian summer.
H-FARM Campus — Roncade (near Venice)
If your child is into tech, this is one of the most exciting camp options in all of Europe. H-FARM is a massive 50-hectare innovation campus in Roncade, about 30 minutes from Venice, and they run tech-focused day camps for ages 7–18. Activities include coding, robotics, digital making, and 3D printing — all taught in a facility that looks like it belongs in Silicon Valley. They also run programs during Easter and winter holidays, so this isn't just a summer option. If your kid is the type who'd rather build a robot than kick a soccer ball, put this at the top of your list.
Ages: 7–18 | Type: Day camp | Language: English | Season: Summer, Easter & Winter holidays
International School of Milan (ISM) Summer Program
ISM runs a well-organized English-language day camp for ages 3–14 on their international school campus. The program covers sports, arts, STEM activities, and outdoor play — a solid all-around option with the kind of facilities and professionalism you'd expect from a top Milan international school. Good for families who are based in Milan for work or travel and want a reliable, English-speaking camp without having to leave the city.
Ages: 3–14 | Type: Day camp | Language: English | Season: Summer
AC Milan International Football Camp (Sportech Academy)
This is the dream camp for any soccer-obsessed kid. Ages 8–16 train with actual AC Milan Youth Team coaches, using the same methodology as the professional academy. The residential program includes accommodation, meals, and trips to Milan and Lake Como. There's also a day camp option. Your child doesn't need to be a future professional — the program welcomes all skill levels — but they do need to genuinely love football. The chance to train at an AC Milan facility and learn from their coaches is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most kids.
Ages: 8–16 | Type: Residential and day | Language: English | Season: Summer
Florence International School (ISF) Summer Camp
The ISF runs a summer day camp for ages 3–14 with a nice mix of sports, arts, science experiments, and cultural excursions around Florence and the surrounding area. The staff is bilingual English-Italian, so it works well for English-speaking families. While Florence is technically in Tuscany, ISF has a different feel from the camps in my Tuscany guide — it's more of a traditional international school program than a countryside experience.
Ages: 3–14 | Type: Day camp | Language: Bilingual English-Italian | Season: Summer
Scuola Mimosa Bilingual Summer Camp — Lucca
Scuola Mimosa runs a bilingual English-language day camp for ages 3–11, held in August. The program mixes art, music, and sports with creative workshops, games, and weekly outings. Full-day hours from 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM make this one of the most parent-friendly schedules you'll find in Italy. Two age-based groups (preschool and elementary) ensure the activities are developmentally appropriate. If you're based in Lucca or nearby in August, this is a natural fit.
Ages: 3–11 | Type: Day camp | Language: English | Season: August
Oltremare Marine Park — Riccione
This one is different from anything else on the list — and kids absolutely love it. Oltremare is a marine and nature theme park on the Adriatic coast in Riccione, and they run educational day camps for ages 4–14. Campers learn about dolphins, sharks, and marine biology through hands-on programs, combined with outdoor activities and water play. It's the kind of camp where your child comes home talking about ocean ecosystems instead of screen time. A great option if your family is spending time on the Adriatic coast and you want something more educational than a beach resort kids' club.
Ages: 4–14 | Type: Day camp | Season: Summer
Camp Sancelso — Veneto
A nature-based day camp in the Veneto countryside for ages 6–14. Activities include hiking, outdoor cooking, farming, and arts and crafts. Camp Sancelso is all about slowing down and connecting with the land — the kind of experience that's increasingly rare for kids who spend most of their year in cities. If you're looking for a camp that gets your child outside, away from screens, and into the rhythms of Italian rural life, this is it.
Ages: 6–14 | Type: Day camp | Season: Summer
Planning Your Italian Camp Summer
A few tips from experience:
- Don't limit yourself to one city. Italy's train network makes it easy to base yourselves in Milan for a week of camp, then move to the Adriatic coast for another. Mix and match.
- August is different. Many Italians take August off entirely, which means some camps only run in June and July. Scuola Mimosa in Lucca is a notable exception. Plan around this.
- Book early for the popular ones. AC Milan and H-FARM fill up fast because they're unique programs with international reputations. Don't wait until spring.
