Summer Camps in Spain for 2026: Barcelona, Málaga, Madrid & More

Spain is hands down one of the most popular destinations my subscribers ask about — and for good reason. The camps are excellent, the weather is unbeatable, and it's significantly more affordable than Switzerland or the UK. My kids have done camps in Barcelona multiple summers now, and we keep coming back.

I've compiled everything I know about camps across Spain into this guide. Whether you're looking for a creative arts camp in Barcelona, a surf camp near Málaga, or a Spanish immersion program in San Sebastián, there's something here for every family.
Barcelona
Barcelona is our family's go-to base in Spain. The city is incredibly family-friendly — you can bike everywhere, the beaches are right there, and there's an enormous range of camps to choose from. Here are the ones I recommend.
Little Makers
This is one of our absolute favorites — my kids will be at the Barcelona location again this summer. Little Makers runs creative arts programs for ages 5–10 in the Gràcia neighborhood, with a focus on art, outdoor play, and hands-on creative projects. It's intimate, well-run, and the kind of camp where your kid comes home covered in paint and grinning.
Ages: 5–10 | Type: Day camp | Location: Gràcia
The Arte Bar
If your child is into fine art, this is a gem. The Arte Bar runs weekly four-day summer sessions for ages 6–12 with painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, papier-mâché, and ceramics. The instructors previously ran successful fine-art camps in Los Angeles and France, and the quality shows. Sessions run mornings from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Ages: 6–12 | Type: Day camp | Language: English
Anywhere Water Sports
For water-loving kids, this camp runs from late June through early September with locations in Barcelona and Badalona. Activities include paddle surfing, surfing, bodyboarding, snorkeling, and sand games. The Barcelona location takes kids 4–17, and Badalona starts at age 3. Great staff-to-kid ratio and a real focus on ocean safety.

Montessori Kinder Barcelona
A lovely option for the youngest travelers — ages 0 to 6. This Montessori-based camp operates in four languages (Catalan, Spanish, English, and German) with low child-to-adult ratios and healthy ecological catering. They run both summer and Easter camps, and welcome external families alongside enrolled students.
Ages: 0–6 | Type: Day camp | Language: Multilingual
American School of Barcelona (ASB)
The ASB runs a 4-week English immersion summer program for ages 3–16. Activities span art, musical theater, robotics, and interactive classes. It's a well-established international school with excellent facilities — a safe bet if you want structure and a familiar school-camp feel.
Ages: 3–16 | Type: Day camp | Language: English immersion
Benjamin Franklin International School (BFIS)
BFIS offers two distinct summer programs: a Creativity Camp for ages 4–10 (art and sensory activities) and a Basketball Camp for ages 11–17 (skills and game theory). Both operate in English. Good for families who want a single-school option that covers different age groups.
Ages: 4–17 | Type: Day camps | Language: English
Rosa dels Vents
With over 40 years of experience, Rosa dels Vents offers both day and residential camps for ages 8–17 across multiple locations. Their themed programs include adventure camps in the Pyrenees, nautical camps on the Costa Brava, cooking camps, and more. Sessions range from 5 to 15 days. If you want your older kid to have an immersive, away-from-parents experience in Catalonia, this is a top pick.
Ages: 8–17 | Type: Day and residential | Season: Summer

Bonus: Barcelona with Kids
Since so many families base themselves in Barcelona, here are a few of my favorite things to do with kids in the city:
- Labyrinth Park of Horta — A hidden gem with a storybook hedge maze. Peaceful, green, and budget-friendly.
- Tibidabo Amusement Park — Old-school charm, younger-kid-friendly rides, and incredible views over the city.
- CosmoCaixa Science Museum — One of the best science museums in Europe. Hands-on, interactive, and fun for adults too.
- The Beach — Barceloneta for energy, Bogatell for a calmer, more family-friendly vibe. Pro tip: grab food under the boardwalk.
- Ciutadella Park — Playgrounds, rowboats, picnic spots. Close to the zoo and El Born.
- The Gothic Quarter — Medieval streets, hidden plazas, and the perfect excuse for churros and hot chocolate.
